FAQ

You've got questions, we've got answers (and lights!)

Here are some of the most common questions about these common-battery flashlights

What batteries do these headlamps use?

Most of our AAA headlamps take 3 AAA batteries. The MORF R230 and R700 take 4 AAA, the Lookout 1000 and MORF L650 take 4 AA, and Twin Power models pair a built-in rechargeable battery with 3 AAA. Batteries are included with most models.

AAA Headlamps

Our AAA headlamps are compact and light enough for all-day wear, and most run on three AAA batteries. The Ryder 500 and Breakout 600 include red night-vision modes for dark campsites and early mornings. The Breakout 600 and Connector use a COB LED, which spreads a wide, even flood for close-up work.

AAA Power With a Rechargeable Light

The Twin Power 550 and 800 charge over USB-C and also take 3 AAA batteries in a rear cartridge, so you have a second power source when the charge runs out. The MORF R230 and R700 run on 4 AAA batteries and have a front light that detaches for flashlight use.

AA Headlamps

For more output, the Lookout 1000 runs on 4 shelf-stable AA batteries and reaches 1,000 lumens. The MORF L650’s front light detaches into a magnetic flashlight or hangs as a lantern.

A Dependable Pick for Emergency Kits

Alkaline AA and AAA batteries hold their charge for years in storage and are sold almost everywhere. That makes these headlamps a reliable backup for power outages, car kits and go-bags.
