COB stands for chip-on-board, which means many tiny LED chips mounted together on a single panel. A standard LED sends light through a reflector to make a concentrated beam that reaches far but lights a narrow spot. A COB panel spreads soft, even light over a wide area with no bright center or dark edges. The Twin Power® 900 Headlamp uses both. The COB floods what’s right in front of you, like an engine bay, a tent, or a workbench, so you aren’t chasing a small hot spot around with your head. The LED handles distance when you need to see down a trail or across a yard.

Both use Police Security’s patented Twin Power® dual-battery system with LED and COB lighting. The Twin Power® 1500 is brighter, reaching up to 1500 lumens on rechargeable power compared to the 900’s 900 lumens. The Twin Power® 900 runs longer: up to 4 hours on Medium and 10 hours on Low on rechargeable power, compared to 3 and 7.5 hours on the 1500. Choose the 900 if runtime matters more than maximum brightness.

On the built-in rechargeable battery, the Twin Power® 900 Headlamp runs about 2 hours on High, 4 hours on Medium, and 10 hours on Low. On 3 AAA alkaline batteries, it runs about 2.5 hours on High, 5.5 hours on Medium, and 10 hours on Low. Because both power sources are installed at the same time, you can use one and then switch to the other for more total runtime.

Press the button on top of the headlamp. Both power sources stay installed, so there’s nothing to swap. Alkaline power is dimmer on High and Medium, reaching up to 490 lumens compared to 900 on rechargeable, but it works as backup when you can’t charge.

The Twin Power® 900 Headlamp is water resistant, not waterproof. It handles rain and splashes but shouldn’t be submerged. It’s also impact resistant and backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
