What is COB lighting, and how is it different from LED in the Widescope Mini Worklight?

COB (Chip-on-Board) lighting mounts many small LED chips directly onto a single circuit board under one continuous phosphor coating, rather than using a single point-source emitter like a standard LED. The result is a wide, even panel of light instead of a narrow beam, which is why the Widescope Mini Worklight is well suited to lighting up a broad area like a garage, engine bay, or workspace rather than throwing light at a single distant point.
