About the Plier Multi-Tool

The plier-based multi-tool started with a frustrating road trip. In the mid-1970s, an American engineer kept running into fixes his pocket knife couldn’t handle, and he sketched a pair of folding pliers with tools tucked inside the handles. What can the saw on the Scout XL cut?

The saw on the Scout XL handles light cutting: small branches, kindling, wooden dowels, and plastic pipe. It’s a compact folding saw, so it suits trail clearing, campfire prep, and quick repairs, not cutting thick limbs or lumber.

Can I bring the Scout XL Multi-Tool on a plane?

Not in your carry-on. TSA rules prohibit multi-tools with blades in carry-on bags but allow them in checked baggage. Pack the Scout XL folded in your checked luggage, and check local knife laws at your destination.
