The Forge from Police Security Knives™ is a lightweight lockback folding knife built for everyday carry. Its 7.7cm (about 3") drop point blade is made from 3Cr13 stainless steel, which resists corrosion and is easy to resharpen at home. The blackened finish gives the blade a sleek, all-black look. The drop point shape handles everyday jobs like opening boxes, cutting cord and rope, and trimming zip ties and tags.

The handle is made from fiberglass nylon, which keeps the Forge light in your pocket while giving you a comfortable, secure grip. Open the blade with the classic nail nick. The back lock then holds it firmly open, so it won’t fold during use. To close it, press the lock bar on the back of the handle and fold the blade down. A lanyard hole lets you add a cord or attach the Forge to a keyring. It’s backed by the Police Security Limited Lifetime Warranty.

What is the Forge folding knife best used for?

The Forge is designed for everyday carry. Its drop point blade handles daily tasks like opening boxes and packages, cutting rope and cord, trimming zip ties and tags, and light outdoor chores. Its lightweight fiberglass nylon handle makes it easy to carry all day.

Can you open the Forge knife with one hand?

No. The Forge uses a traditional nail nick, a small notch in the blade that you catch with a fingernail to swing the blade open. This takes two hands. If you want one-handed opening, check out many of our other knives including the TKX Series which has a thumb stud or the Ridgeline which has a spring-assisted flipper.

How does the Forge’s lockback work, and how do I close it?

When the blade is fully open, a spring-loaded bar on the spine of the handle drops into a notch at the base of the blade and locks it in place. To close the Forge, press down on the exposed part of that bar on the back of the handle. Then, keeping your fingers clear of the edge, fold the blade closed.

Is 3Cr13 stainless steel good for an everyday carry knife?

Yes. 3Cr13 is a stainless steel known for good corrosion resistance and easy sharpening, which suits a knife used every day. It doesn’t hold an edge as long as premium steels, so touch up the Forge’s edge regularly with a basic sharpener. Wipe the blade dry after it gets wet to keep it in good condition.

Why does the Forge use a drop point blade?

The drop point’s lowered tip is strong and easy to control, so it’s less likely to catch or pierce by accident when you’re opening packages or cutting near your hand. The curved belly makes smooth slicing cuts. That balance makes it one of the most versatile blade shapes for an everyday carry knife like the Forge.
