How long does the Blackout-R last on a full charge?
About 5.5 hours on high (1000 lumens) and up to 10 hours on low (280 lumens). Most people run low or medium for close-up work and save high for spotting distance, which stretches a single charge across several sessions. Power comes from a built-in 3000mAh lithium-polymer battery, so there are no AAAs to buy or swap.
How far does the Blackout-R headlamp's beam reach, and what does Slide Focus do?
On high, the beam throws up to 105 meters; on low, about 55 meters. Slide Focus lets you change the beam shape without changing the setting: widen it to a flood that lights a whole workbench or engine bay, or narrow it to a tight spot that reaches down a trail or across a yard. The head also pivots downward, so you can aim light at your hands instead of straight ahead.
Can I use the Blackout-R headlamp in the rain?
Yes. The Blackout-R is water resistant and built for outdoor use in rain, fog, and damp conditions; just the kind of weather you hit on a campsite, a roofline, or a roadside repair. It isn't rated for submersion, so don't take it diving or leave it sitting in standing water.
Q: How does the Blackout-R headlamp charge?
Through the built-in USB-C port, using the included charging cable. That means you can top it off from a wall adapter, a laptop, a truck charger, or a portable power bank, useful during an outage or on a multi-day trip where a solar bank is your only outlet. There's no proprietary dock or brick to keep track of.
Is the Blackout-R headlamp comfortable enough to wear for a full shift?
The headband is fully adjustable and the housing is balanced to sit stable while you move, so it stays put while you're bent over, climbing, or looking up. Three modes let you drop to low for close work, which cuts glare on nearby surfaces and keeps the lamp cooler and lighter on the battery over long wear.
Great headlamp
I own a pest control company and every one of my guys carries one on their truck. These work great in a crawlspace as its bright and keeps your hands free. I also bought one for use at home when im doing projects around the house. Great design and very bright for what I need it for. The only change I'd make is the short charging cord but I just replaced with longer ones. Ill be buying more as needed.

The spotlight is very poor for that price, no beam at all... got it yesterday from Auto Parts Advanced and I hope I can get a refound there. as I'm really disappointed, comparing it with som cheap headlamps that have poor battery life but the beam is looong.
Great light! Poor design.
I purchased one of these lights from AutoZone. It works great; the charge lasts a long time. My hands are free while the light illuminates my work from my head. It's bright enough to work in a dark engine bay at night. However, this light is not intended to be used by mechanics under vehicles. The power switch is located at the rear of the head. When you are required to lay down and access the bottom side of the engine and put your head back, you shut off the light. You can tap the power button again by resting your head back to turn on the dimmer light setting, but when that turns off after placing your head back again, you get to turn on the strobe light feature. Imagine a private disco under your car because you need a pivoting headlamp, but you also need rest your head back on your creeper while working with both hands on your engine. Maybe your Team should rethink the design of the power button directly behind the head. Great Light! Poor Design.

I have been using PS headlamps for several years of daily aircraft maintenance . And with it being rechargeable, adds to its usefulness. There are a few things I feel could be improved, but overall I would highly recommend it

BUT !!!!!!! The PLACEMENT of the SWITCH should be rethought . I am using it to work on trucks and if I rest my head on floor , Creeper, looking up under dash kept hitting on floor . Went from being able to see area to a flashing blur. It is really a good headlamp but maybe there is a way to recess the power button or something

So far this is working pretty good I love it cuz it's bright and rechargeable I don't got a hold of flashlight with my hand while doing work I have a co-worker who will be purchasing one himself
Best rechargeable headlamp!
I love this rechargeable headlamp. Bought several for family members too. I use it to when taking my dog for potty breaks when the sun has not risen. I charge it every week just to make sure I always have light. If there is a power outage, I am covered.
BLACKOUT-R 850 Functionalities
Excited to receive my new BLACKOUT-R 850 , I plugged her in and let her eat up the watts so I could spend some time getting familiar with her functions without interference. The headband adjustment works as you would except it to. The power button is very easy to locate, which is a plus. The battery pack is surprisingly comfortable considering its bulkiness. The headlight.... The vertical adjustment of the headlight is pretty smooth and I didn't need to fight with her when I needed a different angle, however, I personally feel that the nubs holding each position of the headlamp will wear out and in most cases quicker than the battery pack. Lastly we have the telescopic slide of the headlight. The bastard child that cost this product my 5 stars. Being able to slide the headlight in/out is a great feature but there's just no friction there too hold it in place. When you tilt your head forward with the headlamp in the floodlight position it immediately slides out to the spotlight position giving you no control of the area of coverage and quickly becoming a pain in the arse.
Maybe a tight threading adjustment feature allowing the user to turn the headlight in/out or something like a thin layer of some kind of rubber inside the housing area for grip. And a feature that I would like to see is a hands free motion sensor eye allowing the user to wave their hand back and forth turning the light off/on keeping oil, grease, goo, dog doo or worse off of their bald head, (yes, I am bald) I really can't imagine what would be worse than dog doo.
Overall a great headlamp with that one flaw.
Very bright and light weight
It is an excellent option. Very bright and kight weight. I have another one that I also use that is brighter and last a lot longer but it weighs a ton and also costs 3 times more. I previously had one and these 2 that I bought were for my sone and wife so that we could use when camping or hiking. The lamps last over 6 hours of continuous use on high. Great product for the prize.
