What is the MORF Removable system and how does it work?
The MORF Removable system is a patented modular design by Police Security Flashlights that combines a headlamp and a standalone flashlight in one unit. The LED head detaches from the headlamp band and functions as an independent handheld flashlight. The two components are interchangeable and designed to work together, giving users the option to switch between head-mounted and handheld operation without carrying separate lights.
Can the MORF flashlight head attach to metal surfaces?
The MORF removable head includes a magnetic base that allows it to mount hands-free onto any compatible metal surface. This makes it practical for automotive repair, job site work, and other tasks where a stable, positioned light source is needed without holding the flashlight. The magnetic connection is built into the detachable head, so the feature is available whether the head is attached to the band or used independently.
What MORF models are available and what are their lumen outputs?
Two models are currently available. The MORF R230 produces 230 total lumens, with 100 lumens from the removable head and 38 from the base, and has a 42-meter beam with a 9-hour runtime, priced at $29.99. The MORF L650 produces 650 total lumens, with 300 lumens from the detachable head and 450 from the base, a 72-meter beam, and a 3-hour runtime, priced at $49.99.
Is the MORF system durable enough for outdoor or job site use?
The MORF system is built for demanding environments. The MORF L650 is rated for 3-meter drop resistance, and both models carry an IPX water resistance rating and are constructed from impact-resistant materials. The lights are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. These specifications make the MORF lineup suitable for camping, hiking, construction sites, emergency response, and other conditions involving rough handling or exposure to the elements.
How is a MORF headlamp different from a standard headlamp?
A standard headlamp is a fixed unit designed only for head-mounted use. The MORF headlamp is a modular system where the LED head physically detaches from the band and becomes a fully functional handheld flashlight with a magnetic base. This gives the user three functional configurations ā worn as a headlamp, held as a flashlight, or mounted magnetically to a surface ā without carrying multiple separate lights.
